Abstract "The Chinese Connection" is part of "The Philippine Story," an 8-part documentary series directed and produced by British film maker Hugh Gibb and became part of the Ayala Museum's collection in 1977, and now in the collection of Filipinas Heritage Library. This film traces the Chinese influence on the Philippines. The National Museum works on an excavation at the Santa Ana church compound. The site yields 70 graves, containing Chinese ceramics traded in pre-Hispanic times. The film also features a burnayan in Vigan, Ilocos Sur to illustrate the Chinese traces in Philippine pottery-making. Other influences are shown, such as a temple in Cebu City and funeral rites. Originally in 16 mm film format, the film was digitized in 2023 with the support of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
